Independent handling
Manuscripts submitted by an editor, editorial-board member or close collaborator must be handled by an alternative editor with no relevant conflict.
Recusal
The submitting editor or board member must not access reviewer identities, influence reviewer selection or participate in the editorial decision.
Transparency
Where relevant, published articles may state that independent editorial handling was used.
